The new baby chicks are here!

When we arrived first thing in the morning, we had found that ten out of twelve eggs had hatched. What an adorable sight! During mid-day, some of us got to see one of the two remaining eggs hatch right in front of our eyes. It was amazing to watch how the baby chick used its beak to peck out of the shell.  Once fully hatched, a tired and wet newborn chick laid resting. Wow! What an experience! Eventually, the other egg hatched as well. By the end of the day, when all twelve baby chicks were dry and fluffed, they were all moved to their “chick house” also known as a brooder box.   Here, they will get plenty of food, water, and warmth. Please do stop by and take a look at these “cute and fluffy” little ones.  As one Kindergartener exclaimed, “I am so excited. My eyes keep walking me over there!”
