Continuing with The Tiny Seed by Eric Carle…

It is summer!

The sun shined on the flower and the rain softly watered the flower to help it grow

The bees and the butterflies danced around the beautiful flower

The great storm came and the flower lost it's petals..When the storm was over the flower opened its pod and the seeds floated away with the wind...

We have been singing about flowers and seeds too!

Ask your child to sing our song Plant a little seed

Plant a little seed in the cold, cold ground

Up comes the yellow sun, big and round

Down come the rain drops soft and slow

Up comes the flower, grow, grow, grow! 

 

 

We have also been singing about frogs...

Frog's in the meadow,

Can't get him out,

Take a little stick and

Stir him about 
 

We began this song by playing a lily pad game where the frogs hopped from lily pad to lily pad on the strong beats of the song. The children loved this game so much that I decided everyone should have four of the own lily pads to practice keeping the beat and to prepare them for reading music!

We collect four leaves each and pressed them for a week, then we began using them in class!
