Technology
During our latest technology class, the Kindergarteners
worked together to solve jigsaw puzzles. They practiced by taking turns putting
together the pieces of a puzzle. Using the free site, Jigzone.com, the
Kindergarteners worked in pairs to solve the puzzles of their own choosing.
Working together, they collaborated and problem-solved while also mastering the
use of the trackpad on the computer by learning the drag and drop technique.
Winterfest 2012
This
week we had the wonderful opportunity to participate in yet another successful
Winterfest program. This is a traditional event in which our whole AFS
community comes together to bring to light the many holidays that the winter
season brings. From our youngest members of 3 and 4 year olds to the seniors,
staff and faculty everyone sat together and joined in this All-School event. It
was an hour of gathering in singing, dancing, reciting poems, dramatic
play, and decorating a Christmas tree, a Kwanzaa table, and a Hanukkah table
too. The Upper School orchestra led us
into a sing-along of holiday songs such as Jingle
Bells, Deck the Halls, Hanukah Oh Hanukah, My Little Dreydl, This
Little Light of Mine, Peace Round, and Siyahumba. What a funtastic time we had!
